Angel-
I would start calling around today. Your husband should file for unemployment. Most I know who work 9 month jobs with school districts ALL claim unemployment during their summer months. I doubt the school would deny the claim either.
Rent Assistance US led me to find a page full of resources that all aid with rental assistance in the state of Oklahoma. Start calling today!
Unfortunately Oklahoma protects the landlord:
SECTION 131. Delinquent rent
- If rent is unpaid when due, the landlord may bring an action for recovery of the rent at any time thereafter.
- A landlord may terminate a rental agreement for failure to pay rent when due, if the tenant fails to pay rent within five (5) days after written notice of landlord's demand for payment.
- Demand for past due rent is deemed a demand for possession of the premises and no further notice to quit possession need be given by the landlord to the tenant for any purpose.
You're best bet is to start calling around today and tell them you've received a 10 day evict notice. Then sign up for section 8 housing (get on their waiting list), and speak to your landlord openly about your situation. They may just be willing to work with you.
